Perfect for Chinese dishes
Really enjoyed cooking with this wok. It is well built, heats up very quickly which is ideal for Chinese dishes, handle comes apart to put into the oven and for better storage. Works perfectly with induction hob.
Fantastic wok
I finally decided to do away with my very old non stick frying pan and wok as they were loosing the Teflon coating and food began to stick, not to mention the health risks. I decided to take the plunge and get a steel wok. Once it arrive, I washed it and then season the pan to give it a non stick coating. Once done, I did the fried egg test and the wok passed with flying colours. The egg cooked beautifully and simply glided off the wok when cooked. The wok itself is reasonably thick and weighty as you would expect. It cooks food really well and food does not stick to it all if its season well. It looks and feels sturdy and having had it a few weeks now I have no regrets whatsoever with this purchase.
Care for your Wok, clean it as soon as you can after cooking and always re-oil it.
It arrived yesterday and I used it last night and again lunchtime, so far it is perfect, I have cured (seasoned) it twice with Sesame Oil which I have found the best so follow the instructions leaflet, make sure you clean it after your meal, don't leave any food in it for long periods and it will outlast you. I have just renewed my work as a neighbour borrowed it for a Halloween BBQ and in the morning they brought it back all shiny and new, it took me over 10 years to get it to the perfect state.

Brilliant Wok - Easy to season.
Fairly light-weight and well constructed. Carbon steel is by far the best material for authentic Chinese cooking, especially on a ceramic or electric hob. Heats up very quickly and it’s easy to control the heat due to the material. Seasoned (made it non-stick) my School of Wok in the oven simply because I’ve found in the past that it’s pretty much impossible to season a wok properly on a ceramic hob. Hob seasoning is patchy and you’re unable to season all over with good results. After oven seasoning, I tested by making beef fried rice. Success. Perfectly non-stick, nothing left in the pan. The third photo is after cooking! How? - Turn on the over and heat to 200c - Fill the wok with boiling water and leave to stand to fit at least 15 minutes. (You will probably be able to smell the manufacture’s oily protective coating) - Empty the wok and fill with hot water and washing up liquid. Scrub like mad all over, preferably using a metal pan scrub, for a good 10 minutes. (This is the only time you are going to use washing up liquid to clean the wok.) - Rinse and then dry. - IMPORTANT: Remove the wok handle by turning the hoop screw. The wooden handle detaches easily! Do not leave the handle on the wok when oven seasoning! - Place the wok upside down in in the oven and heat for 30 minutes. The wok will slightly change colour. - Remove the wok from oven and place on a heat proof surface. Allow the wok to cook for 10 mins. - Rinse and scrub the wok in hot water to remove the last of any manufacturer’s residue. - Choose a high smoke point oil - either vegetable oil or groundnut oil and set temperature to approx. 20c higher than the smoke point of the oil. If you don’t know, set oven to 220c. - DO NOT USE OLIVE OIL - Rub oil over the entire surface of the wok with kitchen roll - inside and outside. Wipe away any excess, it only needs to be a thin coating. - Place in the oven for 45 minutes and then turn off the oven a d allow to cool in the oven for 1 hour. - Repeat the oil process again. Heat the oven, oil the wok again and place in the oven for 45 minutes and then allow to fully cool. - Re-attach the handle. - Your wok should have changed colour from silver to dark grey/black and will be very well seasoned. - To use, just add high smoke point oil and cook. - Clean by using boiling water in the wok over heat and gently wipe away any particles. Don’t use detergents.
Very happy with this wok
Bought this to replace an ageing non stick aluminium wok. Already have a steel frying pan, which is fantastic, so felt inclined to buy a wok as well. It's worked out well. The seasoning instructions are comprehensive, including youtube video. Having used the wok many times over several weeks, it's improving with age, as we expected/hoped. Great value for money. My only teensy issue is that the handle is a little heavy and the wok has a tendency to tip, but I suspect that's probably because we don't have a wide wok ring on our gas hob, the pan rests don't match well with the wok. That said, the handle seems strong, no worries about handle coming loose as I saw on reviews for other steel woks. It's a shame to see negative reviews for steel woks in general. If you are thinking of buying one, you MUST follow the seasoning instructions. It's not rocket science, do a good job and you'll be rewarded with an excellent wok. You have to look after it as well, no abrasive scrubbing, no dishwasher. We wipe ours inside with a little oil before putting it away. If the hob scratches the underside and you see rust spots, just dab a little oil on them. You'll soon build up a wonderful black patina inside the wok, which is non stick. Good luck, think of your wok as more like a pet than a utensil, and you'll enjoy owning it.
Great Wok from School of Wok
Love the wok, I already have a larger non stick wok from a different seller, which I do not like this is great once you have seasoned it it is great. The Kindle reader who thrown theirs away could not of seasoned their wok correctly and should of gone on You Tube as school of wok have many videos of seasoning woks and recipies also avideo on how to season a rusty wok.

Very good pan including induction hob
This pan is my favourite for cooking steaks and most pan fried / grilled items. It is not the most expensive pan I have (I also have from another French brand “L _ C _ _ _ _ _ t”) yet it heats like no other pan and the coating is of very good quality. I also use other Tefal pan models but this one beats them all. It is slightly more expensive than some other Tefal lines but the price gap is entirely justified in my view
Great pan, description needs improvement
This is superb for the money - it's hefty and solid and the stainless steel looks really high quality with high chromium content. 5 Stars for the product, but zero stars for Amazon's description, which says it's 8.2cm deep. Naturally I assumed this was supposed to be the depth of the pan, but it turns out that's the height to the highest part of the handle from the surface you stand the pan on. The pan itself is only 5cm deep, which was not enough for my needs. To compound the error, the picture provided appears to be not of the 30cm pan, it is of one of the smaller pans from the same range, hence the sides look deeper on the picture than they actually are. Attached is a picture of the actual 30cm item.
