Best Webcam I've Ever Used!
I’ve used several webcams over the years and this one is quite simply the best. It gives the best image I’ve seen from my own or others' webcams. The camera comes well packaged in a substantial cardboard box wrapped in shrink wrap plastic and is well protected in transit. The box contains: • The camera itself. • Remote control (2 x AAA batteries required and not included). • Hi speed 3 metre USB-A to USB-B cable. • A clip-on privacy lens cover. • Instruction manual. The camera is quite heavy and feels well built. It has a sturdy mount that will clip on to most monitors or laptops securely. It also has a standard 1/4-20 UNC female thread so it can be mounted on a tripod. The camera is supplied with a small, unobtrusive privacy cover that simply clips on to the camera and can be flipped down so that the lens is covered. This camera is fixed-focus, utilises a Sony 8.5 megapixel CMOS sensor and the picture quality is excellent. It is 4K capable but even on standard 1080P HD the quality is superior to other cameras I’ve used. It has a digital zoom which is controllable from the remote and works very well indeed. When zoomed, the framing can also be moved using the remote. Low light performance is outstanding. The auto framing and tracking facility work really well. It uses AI to frame the person in the shot and then tracks them as they move. A really handy feature if you’re using this camera for presentations or group shots (it automatically adjusts the frame to capture the whole group). I set up a Zoom meeting with my partner and we swapped places so I could see the image quality. It was hugely better than that sent by her standard, mid-range 1080P webcam. There is an OSD menu (see picture) that can be called and controlled from the remote control and presets can be set up so that they can be recalled easily all from the remote control. The remote control has several buttons that are listed in the manual as ‘not currently having any function’. This is strange but I can only assume that Nexigo hope to use these in the future when more facilities are added with firmware upgrades. This camera is 4K capable which is great if you’re shooting video on it to be uploaded later. However, if you are intending to use it just for streaming on Zoom, Skype etc. the standard 1080P resolution is the way to go. 4K video requires bandwidths of 23-35Mb/s and most users will not have this available on their upload speed. 4K streaming would also require that the person on the receiving end would need a 4K capable monitor and graphics card. That said, because this camera downscales 4K to 1080P, the picture quality is still far superior to that of a standard 1080P webcam in my opinion. Software can be downloaded from the Nexigo website to control the camera’s brightness, contrast etc. (see picture). Sound quality from the dual noise-cancelling microphones is good and can be further enhanced by the Equalizer APO (audio optimizer) programme which is downloadable from the Nexigo website. It is pointless uploading video or pictures taken by the camera with this review as Amazon’s systems will compress them and they wouldn’t be a true representation of this camera’s great performance. This camera may not be for everyone at this price point but if you want superior, crisp and smooth professional looking video in your streaming then this camera is for you.
Incredible - fantastic video and audio AND with ePTZ
Some may say £189 (at the time of review) is a lot for a webcam... but I would say imho this one is worth it... if you spend a lot of time in front of a camera. Let's get the bad bit out the way... the only minor negative I found was the BIG USB cable that plugs into back of the camera, sticks out quite a long way - this can impact you if you have the camera attached to a laptop screen next to a wall. The good bits: Installation: Just plug it in and it is Plug and Play (PnP) - easiest way to see it is to just launch the Camera App and it is there as an available camera. If there is an inbuilt webcam, then this is just an additional camera. The camera base can also expand/collapse up/down and the head can tilt on the base. As well as the base of the camera being able to adjust, a really nice physical feature of the camera is the 1/4 inch thread in the base - this can be used to easily attach the camera to a tripod or even a tripod with a ball-head to give great flexibility of camera directional positioning. There is also a PHYSICAL lens privacy cover/flap that can easily be flipped up or down to show the video. This is such a key security feature as when the cover is down, there is zero chance of anyone accessing the camera if your were to be hacked. Also handy during a meeting if you need to 'mute' the video quickly. The actual setup of the camera if you want to change any off the settings, is done via a in camera display menu that is easily accessed and navigated by using the remote control. The menus are minimal and not complicated to navigate around. Video/Audio: The quality of the video and audio is outstanding - just what you would expect from such a top quality camera. The lens is a wide angle lens and would be great for meeting rooms or large rooms. The ePTZ (electronic Pan, Tilt and Zoom) works brilliantly by using the remote control. Very easy to zoom into the area you want the remote audience to see (and hide the parts of the room you don't want seen). Summary: This is obviously a very expensive camera, but if you spend a lot of time in front of a camera, whether that be for work or pleasure, then this camera is fantastic - easy to install with fantastic video/audio and I would say value for money for the quality and features it provides.
Amazing webcam for YouTube video's!!
I started a little YouTube channel painting models and miniature and purchased this webcam as an upgrade to the Logitech Brio and WOW!! In my search for an upgrade to the brio I've tried about 5 top webcams + a 4k video camera and the £680 Sony Zv1 vlog camera and they were all crap compared the this webcam.. I'm painting highly detailed model's so it's important to have a shap picture and a good quality zoom that will not degrade the video quality and this camera is just fantastic, I can set it up then zoom in and pan or tilt the image with ease via the remote control! You can even set up the zoom, tilt and pan then save as a profile and depending on the size of the model I'm painting or if I just want to soon in I can just press 1 or 3 on the remote control and it zooms and pans automatically it's just fantastic.. The picture quality is the best I've found on a webcam even at 1080p it absolutely smashes the computation, the only camera that had a better picture was the Sony Zv1 but it doesn't have the fancy features it can't charge while working and it can only record for about 45min to an hour before it auto shuts-off (overheat protection) + battery only last about 1h, in webcam mode it has no functions no zoom and the video is 520p!! I've been playing around with this for the last few days and I can honestly say I'm really really happy with it, I like not having to transfer files from SD cards and because it zooms and pans so beautifully with no loss of quality it saves a lot time in editing as I can just use the remote to quickly zoom in/zoom out as I'm working.. Anyone looking to start a YouTube channel or just looking for a high quality webcam I definitely recommend this one, I really have tried just about all the top one's and you not find better and it's not far of Sony Zv1 quality!!! Ps it uses a lot of power I had it plugged into a powerd 3.0 hub with my microphone and my audio quality dropped, there was a noise in background so I plugged the mic into a another usb hub and I was back in business!! Monster webcam hahaha

fab bit of kit, great to be able to zoom in manually built in light excellent . great price as well
The video and sound is excellent
Can't fault this webcam.
Nothing I could dislike about this webcam. Works fine for all my Zoom meetings. Picture quality, colour and zoom facility all good.

Very Clear Webcam that’s easy to use
This is quite a good little webcam, I wasn’t sure if the clip would fit over my TV/Monitor but it did without any problems and is reasonably stable. The webcam can be rotated on its stand and swivelled up and down manually but you have to keep a hold of the clip because less force is need to open the clip than altering the camera position. There is a magnetic lens cover which can protect your video privacy, the problem with the cover though is that it should really have a knob instead of a raised lip because you need something to grab securely when removing it from the webcam. The webcam also has a built in light with 3 levels of brightness, this is activated by touching the black circular area around lens. A LED on the front of the webcam tells you whether the mic is active or not, it is green when active and red when not. The webcam comes with a remote control which offers zoom, pan and tilt, vertical flip, brightness, audio mute, video off and reset to defaults. I downloaded the Nexigo App onto my windows 7 PC and installed it, it allows various adjustments to be made to the webcam although not all of these are enabled, you can also load and save custom settings. The available settings are: brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, white balance (auto setting is spot on), and Powerline frequency 50 or 60 Hz (presumably to reduce flicker), in advanced settings you also get zoom, pan and tilt. You also get a preview option so that you can observe the effects of your changes in realtime. I already have OBS Studio installed so I used this for testing, the first thing that struck me was the picture quality, in a room with natural lighting, the picture quality was superb, the white balance is very accurate and the picture is very sharp, I did find the colour saturation a little too high though but that was easily adjusted. I made a recording and checked the playback, it recorded well with very good sound quality. I did notice about 1s delay between any actions that I made and the same action appearing on my monitor but looking at the recorded video, which is what the person at the other end of a video call would see, there were no problems, motion was relatively smooth and sound and video were in sync. In artificial lighting, such as in a room with an 800 Lumens bulb, the picture is grainy especially in darker areas but the grain is not intrusive and the picture still looks very good. In this respect it performs worse than the selfie camera on my Mi10 phone, but my phone’s camera stretches my face so the webcam beats it on that point. You also have the option to use the light on the webcam to reduce the noise. It is absolutely fine for video conferencing and video calling friends or relatives. If you don’t have a preview window up, you don’t always know if the video is enabled or not, you can’t tell from the webcam LED and even if you have turned the video off, starting the App will turn it on, as does OBS Studio. It would be nice if the remote could control the light on the webcam and also if the power button muted audio when it disables video.
Good camera, decent sound, remote control.
This webcam is easily the best I have used so far, and worth having if you rely on on-line communication for your business. It's not perfect, though. I've reviewed and tested a fair few webcams over the last year. In that time, the quality of what is available has significantly improved. Most of the webcams I have tested were low-budget ones, and it was pretty clear you get what you pay for if you buy one of those. Having tested this one, yes, you do get what you pay for. This is a more expensive camera, but it has a lot of really useful features, and more importantly it gives impressive results. The picture is very good, with accurate colours and good low-light performance. The camera arrives in a simple, smartly-printed card box. Inside is a small plastic tray to stop the contents rattling about, a very comprehensive (and tiny) instruction manual and a remote control. I have the white-finish camera. The plastic moulding is reasonable, although if I'm being honest, it looks a bit cheap. The main body is circular and mounted in a gimbal so it can easily be tilted up and down, and panned left / right. The stand portion opens up to sit over a flatscreen monitor or laptop, and it fits very securely on my monitor. There is also a screw mount in the bottom, so you can attach it to a stand or flexible mount if you have one. The stand, gimbal and mounting system all works very well. It was recognised immediately by Windows 10 when I plugged it in, and I didn't need any other software to get a picture in the default Camera application. The native image is very wide - my entire room is visible behind me, and all of it is in focus as the lens has a very short focal length. The colour quality and white balance is orders of magnitude better than my old camera - which was the very best of the many I've tested so far. I installed the app from the website - my antivirus software seemed happy with it - and that gave me better control over the camera. In fact, more control than I expected. I can zoom in, pan and tilt in the software to get the image perfectly where I want it, as well as adjust the colour, hue, saturation, white balance and all the other nerdy stuff I try not to fiddle with. You can save multiple profiles and call them up later. The camera has a ring-light built in which has three brightness settings. Even in very low light the image quality is good. With the light on and my room in total darkness, the image is clear and bright. Again, massively better than any other camera I have tried. Then there's the remote control. What a brilliant idea. You don't need to open the NexiGo software, as you can control all the basic functions from the remote. Zoom, pan and tilt are the most obvious and are incredibly useful to be able to change on the fly - especially if you are joined mid-conversation by another person who sits next to you. No unprofessional reaching out and fiddling with the camera - you can just pan it over discreetly and adjust the zoom using the remote. You can also mute the sound and flip the picture you are seeing to a mirror image. I recorded some speech in the Audacity app using the built-in microphone. I went into the Sound Settings to adjust the microphone level in Windows, as it had defaulted to 80%, which I initially thought was a little quiet, but was actually just right when I realised how sensitive the mike was! On playing back I was astonished by the quality of the sound. The mike is very sensitive, so even quite low speech was picked up clearly. The playback was clear, and had an impressive frequency range. It was not at all tinny like most webcams. If you have the speakers to reproduce it, the sound is almost broadcast quality. I actually have studio microphones that don't sound this good! However, the sound is accompanied by a faint but noticeable, low-frequency hum or buzz. At first I thought it was caused by my monitor, but even moving the camera as far away from the monitor as the cable would allow made no difference. It's mildly annoying, and probably made worse by hearing it through my audiophile-grade home-studio speakers. The mike is useable, but could have been so much better. That's a shame. On the subject of the cable, it's annoyingly short. I have a 32" monitor, which isn't unusual these days, and my PC sits under the desk right next to me. The cable is too short to reach from the top of my monitor to the PC. I can use an extension or plug into a USB hub, but I shouldn't have to. Finally, you get a magnetic privacy mask that sticks over the lens. Very good camera. Higher price, higher quality. Great functions, good picture, reasonable sound. Recommended, especially if you intend to use a separate microphone. However, at this price, I expect a longer cable and perfect sound without the buzzing. A generous four stars when it could easily have been five.
Very good, fully featured webcam
The media could not be loaded. One of the (only) benefits of the last few years has been the rise of hybrid working. Yes, firms will give us stock equipment - but these are boilerplate issue and if any of our needs vary, then you've got to find your own solution. Both myself and partner have work laptops with webcams built in - and it's expected to be on webcam whenever you're in meetings (a practice I actually like to be fair!) but we simply don't have space for our laptops as well as screens and everything else on our desks (our laptops are "docked" behind our screens, so we can't use webcam) so we need to use external webcams. This N940E webcam from NexiGo has genuinely been one of the most feature-rich webcams i've used, it's great. Recording at a sold 60FPS at 1080P, it's a consistent high quality video image - all while being a sensible shape and light enough not to cause any sudden dips while having it mounted ontop of a screen or webcam-less laptop. It installs and setups just by plugging in the usb - no elevated windows permissions required. It has a in-built mic (which is the weakest part of the webcam, producing pretty tinny audio), a LED light with three levels of brightness and a magnetic cap to cover up the camera while not in use. While on, there's a tiny green LED and what's very useful is the included remote. Using this, you can zoom and pan the camera, reduce or lower brightness or deactivate the microphone. I've included a picture of the webcam, remote and it's magnetic guard. I've also included a picture of the box caught using the webcam itself, then a small video recorded using the webcam to give you an idea of the quality to expect. I hope this is useful!
