A feast for the eyes, at the risk of image burn-in
I have owned various LED LCD TVs over the years but this is my first entry to the world of OLED thanks to the C1. OLED sets have universal praise due to their rich picture quality, deep blacks and excellent contrast ratio, owing to the fact each individual pixel is controlled by the panel. From a purely technical perspective, the C1 does not disappoint. But the UI and risk of burn-in prevent me from giving 5 stars. DESIGN: The TV features a minimal outer bezel and the actual panel itself is thin at the upper half. The C1 looks very sleek, and the metal base supports the TV well without any fear of accidental movement. PICTURE: Blacks are black! The excellent contrast ratio makes images pop, and colours are rich. I have compared the picture quality to my existing Sony XH90 LED LCD, and the C1 55 is superior in every way. HDR performance is fantastic, delivering bright colours and punchy highlights. You will not be disappointed with 4K content. However, the out of the box settings are substandard. I would recommend ‘ISF dark’ or 'Filmmaker mode' for the best dark room performance, with all additional processing turned off. SOUND: Most TVs have lacklustre sound quality but the C1 is surprisingly punchy. AI Sound Pro gives a 'surround sound' experience acceptable for games and movies. Unfortunately, bass is limited, thus a dedicated speaker setup should be considered for audiophiles. GAMING: Gaming performance is superb. There is no loss in picture quality when game mode is activated, and the input lag is very low. Every single game feels responsive. Input lag is quoted to be approx 10-12 ms. The C1 is one of the few TVs which actually provides a total of four HDMI 2.1 ports for 4k 120hz compatibility. Competitor sets by Samsung and Sony fall short. However, there is a risk of permanent burn in when static content, so I would be wary for using this TV exclusively for gaming or PC purposes. INTERFACE: Easily my biggest gripe - the UI is vastly inferior to Sony's Android TV. The navigation when altering settings is not as easy as I had hoped, and there simply are far too many ads on the home screen. OVERALL: Excellent picture quality, hampered by the UI and risk of permanent burn in.
Films, gaming....got that 👍🏻
The media could not be loaded. Brought this for use with my ps5 and watching films. And omg so pleased I did. Yeah it seems a lot of money, but for the use and pleasure it's definitely worth the money.
Which TV should I purchase with such a wide choice?
It's a complicated process deciding which TV to choose, the choice is vast and the technical information confusing. I had settled on a 55" OLED screen which reduced the options then the best processor speed for the money. The rest of the technical bumf was irrevelent. Having said that I am delighted with our LG TV. It took a few days to understand the full capability of the TV but now I am delighted with the viewing options and the quality of picture and the sound output. I should add I am approaching 70 years old and definately not as tech savy as many be but somehow I believe we managed to make the right decision in the end.

Excellent picture, love the Ambilight, & supports 4k @ 120hz which is essential for next-gen gaming
(Purchased for £979, December 2021) After an awful experience with Amazon (First order got 'lost' in transit and had to wait nearly two weeks for them to resolve the issue after paying for a specified next-day time slot) the TV eventually arrived and i am very happy. Had never considered Ambilight to be an important factor but it's never off. It definitely helps eye strain and also acts as additional lighting for the room on dark evenings (as well as creating a more immersive experience). It's my first OLED so i can't really compare to others but i'm very pleased with the picture quality. Even standard definiton TV channels look ok! The only issue i've had so far is that there's no space for a soundbar as the bottom of the screen sits very close to the unit. But the sound from this TV is very impressive. I used a 5.1 surround system on my old TV so was used to very good bass and clarity but there have only been a couple of occasions where the sound from this TV hasn't been able meet my requirements. It's also VERY loud. I think it goes up to 50, but anything past half way is far too loud for normal listening. I'll probably spend the next 6 months messing around with picture settings until i'm happy i'm getting the best possible picture, but in all honesty, the out-of-the-box settings look great as they are so it's not necessary to tweak unless you're really into that sort of thing. This is a very strong competitor to the 'Best OLED on the market LG C1, which is probably why they've put the price up by £450 since i purchased mine.
Great 120hz TV if your kit supports it and you're patient!
My first foray into the exciting 120hz world, really wanted as I picked up an Xbox Series X a while back. A few notes: this TV is THIN on most of the bezel, take care moving it and setting it up, you really want 2 people! Setup of the physical TV is simple enough - a few screws for the stand legs (or your VESA mount solution) and you're off to the races. There's some built in cable management on the legs, which work well in theory but in practice don't align all that nicely with the management outlets on the real panel. On the software side of things, you have a recent version of Android TV OS, and a system update right out of the box. I was able to connect up to my Sonos BEAM and Xbox quickly enough, but getting things configured on both the TV settings and Sonos / Xbox settings did take a bit of fiddling. (My Sonos doesn't have Atmos, so getting the configuration right was key: it was multichannel uncompressed!) Once you're up and running, the TV experience is great - excellent colour reproduction for an OLED in this price range, no ghosting effects, and action on sports and action films has looked great in the initial impression period. For my main use - gaming - it's an excellent monitor. The TV switches to game mode when a game starts up, with Dolby Vision/ Atmos enabled automatically, and the 120hz and VRR work very well indeed! Highly recommended, if you have supporting kit and the patience to get things set up right.
Fantastic gaming OLED for PS5 or XBOX series S, X
Wow what a TV I always wanted an OLED the picture is amazing I thought my old TV looked good a 4K 55 inch HDR Phillips ambilight but this is just in a different league to it LCD they just don't compare or compete, and the fact its got HDMI 2.1 for 4K 120 HRZ and freesync premium my xbox series s and PS5 look amazing, so dose 4K films on 4k bluray or streaming services , I am very happy 😊
