It's an sm58
Exactly the same microphone capsule as an sm7b , just in a tougher housing and without an internal pop filter / shock mount, just if you add them extentally it's an £80 sm7b. Paired with a fethead it produces a lovely clean sound.
Shure SM58 Microphone
These mics are the industry standard for working musicians. Rugged, and strongly made, they stand up to the rigours of gigging and the forever packing and unpacking that goes with the territory. The wedge shape stops them slipping out of your hands when being used. If dropped, they will usually survive, and should the mesh dome become dented, the dome can be unscrewed and the dent knocked out via some gentle tapping using a spoon being placed on the inside of the dome. I bought the mic without the on/off switch as with previous mics (not Shures)I have found they tend to go intermittent and this is a weak point. Always make sure the mic cable is not screwed up, but carefully folded in the 'lay of the cable' (i.e.do not twist it of fold it) as this can cause the cable wires to weaken. Happy singing you all.
It's simple. Do some reasearch, invest a little more than you might have and you'll be very pleased.
I love thee mics. Very nice quality. For close mic vocal use, they are rich and have depth. This is what quality sounds like. It has a nice weight (quite heavy) and it is very durable. The ball is tough if you drop it - but if you do get a ding, it is strong enough to push back out again (use a teaspoon handle to push it out from the inside). I have only used these for vocal PA and vocal recording. They are superb for both. I recommend them.
A WINNER MICROPHONE
I had been using the fantastic AKG D5 for about six months before deciding to get this Shure SM58s as the extra. Everybody talks about the SM58 and I wanted to check it out. The SM58 is now used regularly. The AKG D5 still competes and perhaps wins on smoothness and heaviness of sound, but the SM58 edges forward on clarity and accuracy. Both are musical, powerful and rugged, but of the two the Shure SM58 is smaller in size and is much more resistant to feedback. Ultimately, it is a matter of personal preference. I have SM58 days and D5 days and I use both when singing and recording. But if push comes to shove, and taking everything into consideration including the big price difference, it would be difficult but I would probably pick the AKG D5 as the overall winner. If price was not an issue, then I would declare the Shure SM58 the winner, mainly for its clarity and feedback resisting advantage. This particular Shure model comes with an on/off switch. Unless you feel you really need that switch, you can buy the same microphone without a switch at a lower price. This is a serious microphone, and you'll love it. Recommended.
Great value for the money
Very happy with this purchase. It is a robust mic and the sound quality is good. I actually bought a new speaker as this mic requires fantom power. I had to play with it a little as I am not a professional singer so took a little time to get the hang of using the mic for the best sound.

This is a great Desktop Mic for gamers, looks cool, feels nice and has that gamer vibe to it. Sound is clear enough but not crystal clear like people say, you would need extra things to help with that like an amp+dac with mic input or a good motherboard as mines is to old which may be the problem, friends say it feels like a podcasty sound, little muffled but clearer than any headset mic i'v had at least. I also have this on full gain and vol level due to my MB or something making my mics sound quiet (i recently updated my realtek drivers and that when things screwed up my microphone loudness) so friends have got me on 150% vol on discord which isnt good :/. Build quality feels nice, it picks up voice nicely, this is in front of my keyboard which is abit annoying as i tend to hit it and difficult to type xD so may decide to get an arm if i do keep this, but as long as it set on the right sensitive on VOIP like discord it barely reacts to my keyboard sounds while it never picks up my mouse sounds. Only problem i have with this which may be the case with everyone else is the bright red glow, this is the reason why i toke 1 star off, if they made it RGB or able to set brightness. as i perfer green as it is calmer to my eyes and be nice to be able to dim the brightness to your liken. Tbh if i cant find something to help dim this light i may return it due to it... i play in the dark and having a bright red light shineing at the corner of my eyes is irritating.
The New Standard for Content Creators
If you are a content creator for YouTube as I am (The Restless Natives) and you use a Blue Yeti which is the usual standard, then you should buy this mic. Firstly this mic has all the same settings as you would have on the Yeti, but how does the sound compare. Seriously this mic blows the blue yeti out of the water. The blue yeti has awesome audio capture, but this piece of kit is on another level. Beautiful low and mid tones, crisp high tones and overall stunning clarity. There is a gain slide on the bottom of the mic which helps with being further away from the mic, however, remember more gain equals more white noise and background unwanted audio. As standard this mic is fitted with a shock mount and internal pop filter, but I do recommend an external pop filter if you are going to be close to the mic. The design is stunning, you are supplied with a mic stand / arm attachment so if you are streaming its all ready to go. The mute button is a great feature, you just tap the top and away you go, the mic led turns off so you know its muted. Overall this mic is brilliant and after using it I can honestly say I would have paid double for this quality. Cannot recommend this mic enough. Please note in my images I have added a third party pop filter, which does not come as standard with the mic.
