Good kettle but some niggles
Good points - Can boil small volumes fast / Gets water very hot and keeps it so / Quiet operation I've bought 4 for myself & friends, and all Buckinghams exhibit the same 2 design faults - 1. The lid stops opening fully using the button after just a couple of uses. So you either have to press the button to release the lid and then physically pull it back OR hold the kettle with the spout upwards so the lid needs less force to open it fully. Expect the release button is a Health & Safety feature, but its fairly pointless if you then have to grasp the lid to gain access. 2. Many users complain of the foul taste of the water which stems from the red clip-on soft plastic measure inside the kettle. Strongly recommend you simply clip it off before ever using the kettle. I've found getting the tip of a bladed screwdriver between the measure and its mount, and giving it a gentle twist, is easiest.
Bought this meet,e, as my last one was seriously past it’s use by date... My last Keetle was noisy, as in you had to shout to be heard over it, so I picked the Buckingham for its quiet boil, and it is quiet! So quiet in fact, I forgot I switched it on 😊. I love the fast boil function too, it has 3 red markers, if you fill to anyone of them, it will boil faster than if you filled the full kettle. The kettle has a lovely blue light around the base, which makes it easy to see if it is on. The lid pops open easily via the button on top of the handle. All in all I am 100% happy with this purchase and would recommend buying this keetle. I purchased when on offer for £25.
The Perfect Quiet Kettle
I spent quite a time looking for an electric kettle that was supposed to be quiet or at least less noisy than standard fast boil high power kettles. I was put off somewhat by a few negative reviews but decided at the very low price it sells for it was worth a gamble. Well I am so very glad and pleased that I did. This kettle is genuinely wonderful, it really is. I am a mechanically minded person and cannot find fault with his kettle, the ergonomics of it and the shear effortless in the way it handles and works gives the impression that a team of top engineers designed it. This might seem an exaggeration but let me list why it seems so perfect in the order of of how one uses it.. 1) It is very light but not flimsy. 2) The handle is smoothly curved and very comfortable allowing ease of grip. 3) The lid opens automatically when the perfectly positioned button on top of the handle is pressed. With just a light touch, the top flips over smoothly and quickly to leave a nice open size hole for filling. It shuts so easily too with a very light but positive click, everything lines up to perfection. 4) The kettle is easy to fill and the front facing water level window (OK ..yes it is for right hand usage) is easily seen and precise amounts of water can be gauged. It also has the addition of the red internal 1-2 or 3 cup markers should one one to use is method instead of the side window. 5) Replacing the kettle on it its power stand is without any fuss or fiddling. 6) The power on-off switch is a delight to operate. Light but reassuringly positive and the power on state is indicated by a very impressive ring of bright blue light that surrounds the base of the kettle. 7) Now within a few seconds one can hear the water being heated but the sound is just a very smooth and very quiet rustle so much quieter than any other kettle I have used. Reports that it is not that quiet are nonsense, this powerful kettle IS QUIET. 8) In a very short time the water is heated to boiling and the kettle allows it to boil for a few seconds which is perfect and then reliably it turns off with a very quiet click. This is completely reliable. 9) Now another superb design aspect is that after leaving the kettle for a few seconds the kettle can be switched back on just as easy as if cold water was inside. This allows an instant re-heat for the perfect boiling water pour into the tea-pot. This has been the only electric kettle that I have been able to do this as most kettles when boiled have to be forced to reboil hot water by forceably holding down the on-off button. Not so with this design, it switches back on as easy as the first time. Wonderful.. 9A) Oh yes it pours perfectly too. The spout is just the right size and shape to produce a fast flowing tight stream of water without any drips occurring during the process and when stopping after the pour...amazing. 10) So the perfect kettle?. Yes it really is. As said earlier I am a mechanically minded perfectionist and I just cannot find a fault leaving me full of admiration for this kettle. 11) OK appearance. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and to be honest maybe it does look just a little cheap with it's brushed finish stainless steel body and somehow it reminds me a Jules Verne style space rocket. But as it works so perfectly and it is cheap I can forgive that and I love it because I admire the way it works faultlessly I would not want any other kettle as I don't think it matters that you can get designer kettles not one will work better than this one does. 12) I cannot provide a long term report but I see no reason it will go faulty as it works so well. My experience is that many kettles fail because they are used with hard lime ridden water and not descaled regularly. The limescale build-up then bends and damages lids and other parts. Bottom Line: I recommend this kettle whole-heatedly; it really is a joy to use.

A decent kettle in many aspects. A little bit expensive for what I paid though.
Right, this is not the easiest review I have ever left, as the button you press to open the lid broke within a fortnight or so. I opted for an identical replacement kettle and, while it arrived quite quickly, it was annoying having to manually lift up the lid with my fingertips on every use. It was also obviously unnecessary hassle, having to return the broken kettle. I have had this replacement kettle for nigh on a couple of months now and all seems well. I am leaving this review on the basis that the first kettle never existed. This is a nice-looking kettle, it boils quite quickly and it is reasonably light and easy to clean. On the downside, I would say that the water level gauge isn't the easiest to read and there is nothing wrong with my eyesight. I also think that the £24.55 I paid at the time of my purchase was a bit excessive. If this one lasts for a decent amount of time, then I would probably still buy another one though.
So far so good
I dithered about buying this after reading some negative reviews. I've hardly had it long enough but here's how I feel about it so far. It looks good and it works well. The opening method is brilliant for me as I have problems now and then opening things. This is done by a switch/trigger where on my old kettle the on trigger was. Just pressed and it's open to fill. Very easy to fill. I like the blue light on the on switch so if I did put it on in dark/limited light you could see it clearly was on. It looks good. For the price I paid so far I'd say it's excellent value. Plus it's light enough for me, which I need.
Morphy Richards 102784 Cream Equip Stainless Steel Jug Kettle
I returned a LilPartner kettle which was next to useless in favour of this one. I'm not normally a fan of Morphy Richards products because invariably they are of inferior quality. However, credit where credit is due this is a good kettle. Very fast to boil, easy to handle and on the surface pretty well made. Let's see how long it lasts.

Last's Well, still going
This is a very good kettle, and has given me no problems. I find it quiet, and very quick. I've had plenty of kettle's that say they are 'quick boil' then take so long, that you lose the will to live while waiting. I am also a type 1 diabetic (diabetes meletus) who uses sweet coffee, to raise my blood sugar when needed. So do appreciate a kettle that boils quickly. I know I could have a cold sugary drink, sometimes I do do that, but rarely, as if my blood sugar is low, hand me a cold sugary drink, and I just sit there looking at it. Hypoglycaemia can do that, where as a hot drink, I will drink quickly (cast iron throat) This kettle is light, I also have weak wrists, and fingers that don't work well. So I don't fill this kettle full, as then I couldn't lift it, but a third full is fine for me. So anyone else, who is elderly, or not as strong as they were, may find this kettle perfectly suitable for themselves. It stays bright and shiny easily, the cord storage works, for the length you want, so many don't. It wasn't the most expensive kettle, but definitely worth every penny and more.
Fast, simple, and clean-lines but AWFUL packaging
My wife doesn't like that she cannot see the water level from outside and finds the lid difficult to pull off. But I like the lack of plastic and simplicity of design which means there's less to go wrong. Don't really miss a power-on indicator (though it'd be nice to have) - you soon hear the water hearing up. The on-off switch is a lot sturdier than our previous kettle so I hope it will last longer. I reduced my review from five to three stars because I forgot to say how awful the packaging was. It was posted in the original manufacturer's box with no surround. The delivery man handed it to me already opened exactly as in the picture. I know the kettle had been out of the box because I later found the foam rubber square it sat on in our garden - and the kettle had been put back in the box with its top facing the bottom of the box. Lucky nothing seemed to be missing.
A stainless steel kettle is the most practical choice for any household. Its large capacity makes it an ideal choice for families. It may not be the most stylish kettle, but it is sturdy and durable. However, it will catch attention if you leave it on display because of its heavy design. Its handle is also low enough to fit in most kitchen cupboards. So, before purchasing one, consider the following aspects: The style and the material.
Stainless steel kettles are rustproof and BPA free. The handle is smooth and ergonomic for easy pouring. This model features a removable lime scale filter and a wide mouth for cleaning. Designed for people who love to drink tea, this kettle is a good choice for those who want a sleek, stylish kettle. It can be used for brewing hot beverages. A stainless steel kettle is a great option if you enjoy the aesthetics of the design.
When buying a kettle, you have to keep some important things in mind. Make sure it’s BPA, phthalate, and lead free. Check for a hidden heating element too. Some kettles have hidden heating elements and can be dangerous. You should always choose a stainless steel kettle instead. Stainless steel is very durable and resistant to rust. It doesn’t contain aluminium or magnesium. The lid and handle are made of quality materials that won’t break or scratch.
Another consideration is the price. A good kettle should be able to boil water quickly. The amount of water in a kettle determines how quickly it heats up. A large base means that the heating element will contact the water at a faster rate. A smaller base means the kettle will take longer to cool down after boiling. While a smaller base will give you a higher capacity, it will take a longer time to boil.
Size: The kettle spout is where you pour the contents. It should be smooth and easy to pour. The spout should not drip or slip when filled with hot water. If you’re using the kettle for a larger family or for work purposes, the size of the kettle should be a consideration as well. While a large kettle is a good option for a large household, a small one is an excellent option for a workspace.
Stainless steel kettles have multiple safety features, including a safety valve. You should check for these features before purchasing a kettle. The spout should be easy to open and pour water. It should not drip and must be resistant to slipping while filled with hot water. It should not drip or slip when filled with steam. A spout should also be flexible and not be too stiff. It should be comfortable to handle.
