Great mouse for the price - simple but good-looking!
I think this is a great mouse to pick up when it's on offer. It's lightweight, has 6 programmable buttons, 8,000 DPI and good-looking RGB. The default setting is cycling through the colours but you can download the Logitech G Hub software to change lighting profiles, turn off rgb, change button assignments and DPI sensitivity. I haven't found the left-right click too sensitive or loud but I hope it doesn't develop the double-click issue like a few other reviews have mentioned. It feels much better quality than the basic cheap Logitech one I bought for my work laptop and I haven't had a mouse before with side buttons before - they are so useful to go back and forward! But it might be too small for people with large hands and I have found that my thumb and left finger have worn away the top layer after only 4 months of use, but that happens. Would recommend.
Fantastic Value and Very Well-Rounded for the Price
For the price, this is definitely one of, if not the best mouse you can get on the market right now. Other mice that are around this price point or a few pounds cheaper don’t even come close to this mouse in my opinion, although it’s not entirely perfect if you want to be picky. Firstly, the size and comfort of this mouse is great. The size of the mouse is not too large, but it’s not too small for someone with quite large hands. It’s easy to hold and use for extended periods of time when using it for casual use, or for gaming. I really like the matte finish all over the mouse as there is no sticky/non smooth feeling anywhere on the mouse which feels miles better to be than having gloss on a mouse. Also, the main buttons don’t feel cheap as they have a nice click to them and have not malfunctioned once for me. The mouse wheel also feels better than other mice I have used as it’s not to flimsy feeling and it does have a little bit of resistance which is comfortable when scrolling down web pages etc. Moreover, the fact that the cable is a standard thin/lightweight plastic cable is something that I like over the more premium looking braided cables. This is because the braided cables add more weight, and can sometimes snag on certain types of mouse mats which doesn’t happen here. The side buttons also work well, and importantly they never get in the way or pressed by accident. While there are plenty or RGB options available to use within the Logitech G HUB software, I am not a big fan that you have to download the software and have it running constantly, especially when it’s used in order to deactivate the RGB as I prefer to have it turned off, and to set the DPI. Another small con would be that the middle programmable button is slightly raised and I have accidentally changed my DPI in the middle of gaming, though I suppose you could deactivate the button to do nothing if this is a problem. Overall, this is a really great and feature-rich mouse for the price, so you can’t go wrong here.
Worth a punt.
Works as intended, is well built and performs well in games. Mouse is a bit big. If I hold the thing with my usual crab style I find that my fingertips are about half way down the buttons and I constantly have to adjust my palm position to use the wheel properly. Using my whole hand flush against the mouse helps a bit with this but in doing so I lose some fine adjustment. So if you don't have Mickey Mouse sized hands the size of the mouse may be something to watch out for. However because the mouse is so precise I'm going to bear with it and attempt to adjust, either that or just keep it as a backup. The leds are nice enough I suppose and if you download the software from Logi (Be sure to turn off all the rubbish services this program turns on during install), you can configure colour and speed. Going to be honest and say that this aspect of the mouse was not a selling point for me so I'm not particularly impressed with this feature. I mean once you actually use the mouse your hand covers the lights anyway so what's the point? But hey, if led is your thing then rest assured the mouse is nice to look at in the dark. So yeah, apart from the size I'm quite happy with the mouse and as said above it's very precise for gaming. Worth a punt.

Fantastic little beast just like it's predecessors. Feels good in hand, all buttons are right where you need them, robust and clicky. Superb tracking with 0 acceleration. The BAD: I can only find one con which has some weight to it for many of us. The Macro Option is available in On-Board Mode you can create a macro and use it as you wish with one BAD quirk. If you have a macro like fastclick and want mouse to repeat the macro while key is held down you will be forced to use software version for unknown for us reasons. I have used Razer Mamba 2012 in the past and it had no problems repeating the macro while using On-Board storage even if you didn't have the software installed, so I don't really know why Logitech went with this as even their own old software supported repeating macros in On-Board Mode. Logitech, if you ever read this please make macro repeat available with On-Board Chip and please make G502 Wireless HERO, I mean this sensor is eating so much less that it would be so easy for a battery to keep it alive for quite a while.
This is a nice sturdy mouse that you can add weight to make it comfortably heavy. I have big wide hands that will cramp up whilst holding most mice, not with this one though. My hand fits round it nicely with all the buttons in close range of my thumb. The dpi on the fly ranges from sluggishly slow to super fast twitch sensitive greatness. I was almost put off by a review that said the scroll wheel is flimsy, it isn't at all. There is a button locks the wheel to per click scrolling to super fast scrolling. Everything on this mouse to its design to its features has a premium feel to it. One last thing, I aren't using a mouse pad and it still glides along a wood surface like its on silk. If you do decide to buy this mouse you won't regret throwing almost 60 notes at it, totally worth it. Logitech does it again!
You get what you pay for. Excellent apart from the mouse wheel.
I was a little torn at spending this much money on a mouse having only spent about about £25 on my old Tecknet gaming mouse and that survived nearly 15years of abuse. However, Tecknet are now cheaply built as well as cheap as the replacement Tecknet mouse proved. I have gone with the highlu praised G502 hero after reading many reviews and I am so far very impressed. All programmable buttons work great using the windows interface (Unlike Technet) and although the G502 looks like it would bite your hand off if you were to try and touch it, it is surprisingly comfortable and the buttons all seem to be well thought out in their placement. 5 Stars all round other than the mouse wheel where I only give 4 Stars. This is because it does not have a rubber surface like others I have used and seems quite slippery when trying to use it to scroll. Pulling the wheel towards you with your finger seems kind of ok but trying to spin it away from you my finger tends to slip a bit and so it is a bit annoying (Not that I use the scroll wheel that much and it can be set to 'free-wheel' so you can spin it without any resistance). I toyed with the idea of getting the wireless version but at twice the price and the fact that a wireless mouse actually tends to HIT the wall if you throw it I decided to stick with a teathered / wired one.

2nd Only to the G502!
I've reviewed the older brother of this mouse (g502) and stated I'd never use another mouse so the 4 stars I've given this are based off the fact that I've found my perfect mouse! The issue i have is this mouse feels pretty much the same (g502), now I don't use this one for gaming like i do my 502 but I use it fairly constantly at work (software engineer, use computers everyday all day) the mouse offers almost everything I love about my 502 again but for a lower price suits my grip fine (I mainly use a palm grip but occasionally shift to claw when things get intense 😛 ) offers the same amount of buttons with the same great software configuration as well as the ability to configure once save to memory (on the mouse) and use on other machines without the utilities although some special features require software utility to be present). So this why would you ever get the g502? the simple answer is two good reasons weight configuration if you want it (I dont use that feature) and the scroll wheel, now dont get me wrong the scroll wheel is fine its great in fact compared to mice by other companies, but when compared with the scroll wheel on the 502 its lacking its not as fluid it doesnt have sideway scroll and it doesnt have the free scroll that the 502 does, so if the scroll wheel is not super important to you (or youve never experienced the 502s scroll wheel you will be super happy with this mouse).
Nearly as comfortable as a MX 518
Nearly as comfortable as a MX 518, same basic shape except the right hand edge for 4th finger is not quite as smooth so you can't rest your finger in the same way -small point but big difference in feel. It's also a bit slippy to the touch, and the left/right buttons are a bit sensitive to touch so sometimes I click by accident. Otherwise pretty good. Best so far out of dozens I have tried recently since the MX 518 😉
Large mouse perfect for large hands
Buyers notice: The logitech G402 is more suited for people with larger hands as you will see from my comparison pictures between the g403 and g203. If you have smaller hands, you will find it difficult to reach the function buttons. (My hands are 19cm+) I rated this 4 stars due to it being a week late and also the packaging being damaged upon delivery. Detailed description: (Scroll down if you want a quick PROS/CONS list) After buying and reviewing the Logitech g203 mouse, (which I gave 5 stars for comfortability, size and durability), the Logitech G403 comes to a close second for me, but makes great use in other departments that the G203 can’t do. While the G203 is small in comparison, I found that it was harder to grip having bigger hands, therefore I purchased the G402 as a substitute for gaming as it required me to reposition my hand from a full palm grip to half a palm grip which overtime puts strain on the wrist. Its size and ergonomic design was makes it easy to fully palm grip the mouse for right handed people and you can easily rest your thumb on the rest. If you have never tried mice before or are switching from a traditional lighter mouse, then you will notice the clear difference in weight with the Logitech G402 as it is heavier. While it is also heavier, it includes an older sensor with higher DPI, (this doesn’t mean its bad!), the sensor difference is barely noticeable. The older sensor only means that the mouse is less responsive to movement but the difference is minuscule. The heavier weight means that it takes more movement of the wrist and hand for the cursor when gliding the mouse in comparison to the g203, however the DPI makes up for it. While the weight may seem like a disadvantage, it can be beneficial if you prefer control over speed when it comes to gaming. (This is why some mice come with added weights, which isn’t viable in this mouse). It also features 8 re-programable buttons that are useful for macro shortcuts or by giving you more functionality in games. The positioning of said buttons are perfect, however you will struggle to reach the two extra buttons at the top if you don’t have the correct hand size. The difference scroll wheel in comparison to the g203 is not very noticeable, but the G402’s scroll wheel moves more easily, while the G203 requires more effort. The cord itself is the same as the G203 only the G203ms mouse seems to move easier. G402 PROS: - Ergonomic design makes it comfortable to hd for right handed people - Has a thumb rest - Heavier mouse if you prefer control over speed - Clicking (in my opinion) is quieter than the G203 - Features 8 re-programmable buttons beneficial for macros/FPS - Scroll wheel scrolls smoother than the G203 - Design is pleasing to the eye - High DPI - Made from durable, good quality material G402 CONS: - Older mouse - Size of the mouse is more people with bigger hands - 2 of the buttons located beside the left and right mouse buttons are hard to reach if you have shorter fingers - Older sensor than newer models - Heavy mouse meaning that it requires extra arm/wrist movement in order to glide - Doesn’t feature RGB for all you rainbow lovers out there, you will have to make do with the fixed blue and breathing mode.
