The best choice of electric toothbrush under £40
The Good: - Compared to electric toothbrushes I've used in the past, the brush head is very manoeuvrable in the mouth, meaning you can get to those hard to reach places. - It leaves your mouth feeling cleaner than if you were to use a manual toothbrush. - The sensitivity indicator can be helpful to let you know when you're brushing too hard. - A full charge lasts me about a week, with roughly 10 minutes of brushing a day. - The timer indicator let's you know how long to brush for, although, I usually end up ignoring this any way as I like to brush for a bit longer. - There is an indicator that let's you know when the toothbrush is fully charged, which is a nice feature to have. - There are two brushing modes; a sensitivity mode and a normal mode. The sensitivity mode can come in handy if you feel the normal speed is a bit too much and is causing irritation. The Bad: - I was surprised at just how long the toothbrush actually takes to charge, which is around 16 hours. Sometimes I have to take it off of charge before it's complete, due to the fact that I need it to brush. - Comes with a European plug, so you will need an adaptor. Overall: There are a lot more positives when it comes to this electric toothbrush than negatives. For the price It's pretty much a no brainer if you're looking for a new brush; perhaps switching from a manual toothbrush to an electric one. If you want to spend a little bit less and don't need all of the added features of the Oral-B 2500N, then the Oral-B Pro 650 is probably the way to go. All in all, there are some electric toothbrushes that can reach triple the price of this Oral-B 2500N, so for the price and what it can do, I thoroughly recommend it. I've had to knock off a star due to charging times, but it is still worth it for the price. Please let me know if you found this review helpful by clicking the button below. Thanks.
Good and problem well handled
This Toothbrush is a good compromise between the cheap range and the more expensive ones. It has the LI batteries which hold charge for twice as long as my previous version ever did. It has just the two speeds, which is one more than I need. No gimmicks and good value as such. Very happy. Or I was until it started a problem with the battery discharging completely when I tried t charge it or or lasted a session or two, going from fully charged to completely flat. This happened first after about four or five months. The good news is that I phoned the telephone number provided by Amazon through looking at the options on my original order. I phoned, they answered promptly, asked about the problem and asked that I send it in for repair. No fuss about not having the original packaging. They wanted a copy of the invoice which I easily found on my account in Amazon. They immediately emailed a returns note and prepaid postage label. I sent it on a Monday; Tuesday morning about 9.30 I got a text to say it was received. 11 mins later I got another text to say it was fixed and going in the post by Royal Mail. The next morning it arrived. It was a new toothbrush and charger. A slightly different model with an extra mode (I still only need one!) and different colour (which makes no great odds to me, in fact all white is better). With service like that my faith in P&G/Braun/Oral b is restored and I still give five stars.

This is definitely the PRO 2 2500, even though the images show the old model!
I was a bit worried before ordering as the name and main image showed the Pro 2500 but description suggested it was the Pro 2 2500. But I can confirm this is the PRO 2 2500, meaning it has a Lithium battery instead of the old Nickel based ones, so the battery should last twice as long!

Light years better than manual brushing....Do not put it off......Change to an electric toothbrush today
I have used manual toothbrushes for my whole life but as the years whizz by and the my gums recede I was finally persuaded by my hygienist to convert to an electric toothbrush. having now been using one for about a year I am wondering why I never converted sooner. This toothbrush is excellent. I think it has all the features that you need - and perhaps some you do not. I like the red light that lights up when you press too hard. I do not take much notice of how the brush monetarily changes its rhythm when certain time points have been reached. There are other brushes available with even more features. Personally I think you only need a basic brush like this one. If you purchase one do watch the various videos on YouTube that explain how you are supposed to use the product. Lots of hygienists have posted videos that are really useful. I have now used it for a year. There is distinctly less scraping and spitting of blood when I see my hygienist. So less pain for me. I am very happy with the product and would strongly recommend.
Oral-B Pro 2 2000 - pink
I've put the model as the title of my review as, when I was researching brushes, some of the reviews for different models seemed to be mixed in with each other. Which isn't helpful as you click on what you think is a diff model and get all the same reviews up. Anyway. I had an Oral-B Sonic Care with a rectangular brush head and my dentist told me to change to a round head and said "all Oral-B models can take the round head attachment". Foolishly I didn't question this and ordered the round heads....only to find that they don't fit the Sonic range. I contacted P&G (makers of Oral-B brand) to ask some questions and they were very helpful. I didn't want a brush that connects to a phone app (not sure why I would need such a thing - and it's just more stuff to go wrong). It also had to take the round heads (as I now had 4 in my possession) and I queried the negative reviews that I've been reading about battery life. The recommendation was the 2 2000 model. I've been using it about 10 days now and I must say - my teeth have never felt so clean (except, perhaps, after a hygienist appointment). Still on my first charge - this model's charge is stated as lasting 2 weeks. So far - loving it.

Affordable, efficient and actually works
After using this toothbrush for the last two weeks, I can safely say that I'm never going back to a manual toothbrush again. This was actually recommended by my dentist, and it has drastically helped to reduce the staining on my teeth. After use, your teeth feel smoother and your mouth just feels so much cleaner than by using a manual toothbrush. The toothbrush buzzes every 30 seconds to tell you to move on to the next section of your mouth, and does one final buzz at the recommended 2 minutes. In my opinion, it's quite difficult to get a good clean in 2 minutes - it's a very different brushing technique compared to using a manual toothbrush. It's also handy that the red light turns on if you're pressing too hard. This is a great product if you're starting off on your electric toothbrush journey. It's very affordable (compared to some of the higher priced toothbrushes) and the brush heads aren't that expensive either (includes a spare head in the box). Be warned that you will need to buy a shaver adaptor if you want to charge it in a normal plug. EDIT: Over a year later, and I'm still using it! Never going back to a manual.

Fantastic electric tooth brush for the price bought my husband one as well, got a spare head/brush as well, don't need charging only once a week using twice a day, also has a two minute timer to let you know when time up would recommend.
Good product - the last one of these I had served me well for the best part if ten years, until the battery started to fail and I needed an almost daily recharge. As long as you change the heads regularly (as with any toothbrush) you get a good clean from these devices.

Even better than the last model !
I’ve had Braun electric toothbrushes for over thirty years now, and each time the performance of the new has our shined the old one. This 3D cleaning system is amazing. The speed and cleanliness left in ones mouth is just stunning. There are many variants of Braun toothbrushes available some are 3D others just 2D. I’m glad I did the research as the difference is definitely noticeable in the mechanics. Also, so too is shopping around as the same unit was available for £20 more in many places. Where and when I bought it I had a bargain. Finally as well as the usual “tome’s up” pulse, this one also gives you mini pulses every 30 Seconds reminding you to change teeth - very useful!
best electric toothbrushes: Buying Guide
Electric toothbrushes are a great way to get a great clean. However, they can be difficult to clean tight spaces. There are a few features to consider before you invest in one. The most important feature is whether the brush is rechargeable or not. Many electric toothbrushes do not last long and need a recharge. Most have a built-in timer and are easy to travel with. Besides, you can easily set the timer.
An electric toothbrush should be comfortable to use. A dentist can recommend the best electric toothbrush for you. He or she will recommend one that features fast vibrating bristles or a rotating oscillating head. Some also have programmable power levels, timers, and rechargeable batteries. The most important feature is a daily brushing regimen, as this helps to maintain healthy teeth and gums. An electric toothbrush can be a great choice for those who don’t want to spend a lot of money.
Electric toothbrushes should fit properly in your mouth. The size should be not too large nor too small. If it’s too large, it won’t reach the back of the mouth or hard-to-reach areas. For optimum results, you should buy an electric toothbrush with a round head, smaller than half an inch, and a long handle. If you are unsure about how to use it, a cosmetic dentist can recommend an electric toothbrush for you. They will also show you how to use it in the correct way.
The most popular electric toothbrush is the Sonic. It can clean teeth with a gentle brushing motion and is gentle enough for even the youngest children. It has many benefits, including timers, and an option to time your brushing to two minutes or more. These features have made electric toothbrushes more convenient and easier to use than ever before. It’s worth considering a new electric toothbrush, but be sure to read the instructions carefully.
According to the American Dental Association, electric toothbrushes perform an equal job of cleaning teeth. They remove plaque and other harmful bacteria and gums more effectively than manual brushes. Using an electric toothbrush for a period of two minutes per day is recommended by the American Dental Association. But, some users may find them too harsh for them. While it is possible to use electric toothbrushes to help you brush your teeth, it’s best to choose one that suits your needs.
The electric toothbrush has several advantages. For one, they can be multidirectional. They move the brush head from side-to-side or up-and-down. This motion helps in cleaning all corners of your mouth. The most effective electric toothbrushes feature a charging indicator light and a brushing timer. The most expensive models offer an automatic cleaning feature that reminds the user of how long the brushing process takes. A few models even offer a timer for users to adjust the speed.
