Ancol Ergo Cat Slicker Brush
- A fantastic tool for removing loose fur and leaving your cat with a glossy coat
- The pins of the brush are soft and bendy
- Glides through the coat to remove loose hairs from both the undercoat and topcoat and can be used to gently detangle knots and matting in longer fur
- If your cat is unused to being groomed you could build a bond by starting with Ergo Soft Bristle Brush
- Regular grooming will also reduce the amount of shed fur around the home
Sorry if this seems a little emotional. This is Oz. Oz is an elderly gent who isn’t very well. His coat was tufty and dull as he is no longer able to groom himself. I decided to take control and bought this slicker brush. 2 short sessions and he’s looking sleek again. More importantly I got quality purr time (and they were loud and happy purrs) with this little man in what could be his final weeks. He’s now looking after the ironing pile as seen in the photo. A small £3 brush has meant so much more. It is priceless. Xx
This is great for my short haired cat
I have a cat that is outdoor and one that I have taken in but is so old he is now not grooming himself very much. This is a great little tool to get through his dense short coat and removes all the fur he has refused to groom out. I have to wear gloves though as he gets very irritated and attacks the brush even though it has got his coat looking so much better.. a few quid spent has done a lot of good
Funky Pink Ancol Ergo Cat Slicker Brush ... Please hit like if you found this helpful 🙂
Ancol is an independent, family owned company specialising in the supply of pet accessories over the last 40 years for dogs, cats and small animals employing ethical practices. Their ethos is to deliver "exceptional service, quality and reliability," while producing "exciting new ranges and product advances." Ancol first caught my eye several years ago when searching for bright and unusual collars for cats or Mr Samson, as he is a discerning cat seeking quality and fashionable items. Although he is male, I decided to jump in and buy the bright pink funky brush as he has been uhhm "modified" I guessed he would not mind! This Pink Ancol Ergo Cat Slicker Brush is similar to a "human" paddle brush. The main construction is a resin/plastic in Pink and the grey is a rubberised material which helps with grip of the brush. The head of the brush is slightly curved to help angle around the body and the paddle is constructed from scary looking rows of steel pins that do not have any rounded ends and is quite scratchy if caught on the skin. Ancol cite the pins help to Remove dead hair and undercoat Remove knots and tangles Promote a glossy coat, by moving oils through the coat Promote healthy skin and hair Pros Despite the scary pins Samson actually loves the brush and purrs away when used Samson's coat is much improved and is very glossy, He is 16 and does not groom at often so this helps him remove dead coat and clean the hair The brush picks up a lot of hair (currently summer) The brush is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the hand The head of the brush is small enough to fit the head The brush is Small Modern & colourful! Would particularly be suitable for semi and long hair cats It may help with hairball prevention Cons The pins are a little sharp/prickly although not as sharp as first thought, make sure its put away in between uses Might not be suitable for very short haired cats Health & Safety Be gently, slow and careful around the head and especially the eyes Not suitable for children to use If you found this review helpful please click the like button thanks! 🙂

Great slicker brush
I had a slicker brush before, but needed to replace it, I chose this one with it having the easy clean action, brilliant! Push a button and you can dispose of your pet hair without having to pull the hair out of the bristles 🙂 I have found the first row of bristles bend really easily which I move back in to place, as it’s new I’ll just need to get used to the product as I have been used to a different brush for so long, what a difference the brush has made to my husky’s coat and much easier to keep hair free
Best buy ever
Love this comb gets right down into the coat and teases the knots out. I have brought lots of combs for my cat and they just don't do the job. This comb is awesome love it
My cat loves it and it does a great job!
It is the best brush I have tried both in terms of efficiency and in terms of acceptance - and I have tried them all, combs and brushes, from the simplest to the most sophisticated and expensive ones. My 4 year old cat is Siberian, so she needs only the occasional grooming, but she won't take it easily (hence all the tries...). But when shedding, (and she mainly sheds the third undercoat that looks and feels like cotton wool) she does need daily grooming, mainly to protect her from swallowing the hair and to keep it out of our way. It is the only brush she has really accepted, and with pleasure. The brush does an excellent job of removing loose fur, and it is extremely easy to clean. The only thing that would make it THE perfect brush for cats is the size. I would rather have it a bit smaller to make it easier to comb through my cat's belly. Still, I can manage. I strongly recommend it!

Amazing brush! Have tried all sorts of brushes to brush my cats and they've accepted nothing until now. Both sides work brilliantly to brush out knots and remove loose fur and it was pretty cheap to buy too! I have one cat in particular that's the hardest to try and brush but I have just spent 30 minutes brushing him and his brother with no bother at all, they seemed to be enjoying it for once 😅
Senior cat loves this brush
I have 2 short haired cats, both brothers from the same litter around 16 years of age, soon turning 17. One of them has a sleek, glossy coat and is always looking his best. His brother, however, overgrooms himself compulsively and makes himself look worse for wear most days. His fur ends up drying awkwardly and tangling a little sometimes. I finally decided to invest in a brush hoping it would help his coat, and I can safely say this little brush does the job! The reason I have rated 4 stars is because he doesn't really like the fine side of the brush, I have tried to be extremely gentle but I have come to the conclusion he just does not like the feel of the metal ends against his skin. He will sit comfortably for all of 5 seconds as I work a tangle out and then he's off! The softer side is much more comfortable for him. He'll happily sit and let me brush him for an age with it, and it works wonders at making his fur noticably softer. I'm sure some cats don't mind the metal bristles but for older, anxious cats or cats with sensitive skin, it might not be the best experience for them. Here's to many more happy years with my old boys 🙂
Well thought out.
Nice brush, with quite dense firm bristles on one side, and metal bristles on the other. By having different sorts of bristles on each side, it avoids the problem with a combination brush we have, which neither goes through the fur very easily (the short dense bristles) nor teases out tangles as the longer firmer bristles are only slightly longer than the short bristles. Don't worry, because although the metal bristles are rigid, they pivot at the base because of the flexible rubber cushion which holds them at their base. These metal bristles pass quite easily through even long fur, taking care of course not to catch and pull any tangles. They have effective round blobs at their tips to make them safe and comfortable if they touch the skin. Used gently this is therapeutic for pet and owner.
